Professional background
A registered lawyer since 2010, Dr. Albert Estrada i Cuadras has a Doctorate of Law with European mention from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) (2015), a degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the University of Barcelona – Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2005).
He joined the firm as a lawyer and academic consultant in 2017, after a long period as a professor in training at the UPF between 2005 and 2016.
In 2020, he promoted the creation of the Internal Investigations Department of Molins Defensa Penal, appointed by the partners of the firm’s director of said department, a responsibility that he combines with that of procedural lawyer, being promoted in 2024 to associate lawyer of Molins Defensa Penal.
In the 2016-2017 academic year he was a visiting professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he continues to teach classes in his Master of Criminal Law. Abroad, he has carried out various research stays at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich and has attended courses at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Belgium. He speaks English and German fluently.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the UPF Law School. He teaches Economic Criminal Law and Compliance classes in master’s and postgraduate degrees at several universities, including the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Barcelona School of Management-UPF.
Dr. Estrada is the author of two monographs (2016 and 2017) and various articles. His publications have focused on the legal theory of crime and economic Criminal Law. He has given conferences both in Spain and abroad. His lines of investigation are industrial espionage, public and private corruption, market abuse crimes, crimes against intellectual and industrial property, as well as internal business investigations.
