Professional background

A practicing lawyer since 2019, Pere Joan Perete Horrach holds a Law degree from the University of the Balearic Islands and a Master’s degree in Law (Criminal Law track) from the Pompeu Fabra University – Barcelona School of Management. He also holds Master’s degrees in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences from the University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University.

He also holds a Specialization in Juvenile Jurisdiction (2022), a Specialization in Gender-Based Violence (2021), and a Specialization in Penitentiary Law (2021) from the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB).

He is currently Secretary of the Criminal Law Section of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB).

Pere Joan Perete joined our firm in 2018, following a period as an in-house lawyer for a renowned international company in the tourism sector. He is currently a senior lawyer.

Since 2023, he has also taught as a Collaborating Professor of Criminal Law in the Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession and Procurement at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He also directed the Final Degree Project in Criminal Law at the International University of La Rioja.

He has participated as a speaker in various conferences and debates related to criminal law, organized by the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), as well as in leading podcasts in the legal world.

Among other activities, he has spent time at the United Nations (Geneva) as part of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and has collaborated in the Legal Department of the Spanish Red Cross (Balearic Islands) within the program for refugees and asylum seekers.

He is the author of several articles and publications in legal journals.
